adventures of the nerd herd

WOW it is March of 2009! Time flies! Spring is in the air here in AL! I love spring! It's so fun to watch as the trees start to bloom and the grass turns green, and covers the forest floor with it's deep green carpet.... The birds are chirping and delighting us with their showy tunes and bright colors!
Taylor has started to play soccer and gymnastics and loves both! He is busy riding his bike and exploring. Sequoia is in gymnastics too and is excited to learn a floor routine. She loves school and riding her bike and playing with all the girls that live by us! Zegan wants to plant plants! He has two bean plants growing quickly, and loves to care for them. He also keeps the bird feeders stocked with food so he can watch the birds, we try to learn the name and type of bird and their call.
We all like to go on family bike rides, and are always looking for somewhere new to explore. We went to the tallest waterfall in FL the other day, it is a sate park 45 min from here. It is a waterfall into a huge sink hole, I think it falls 60 feet, It was pretty neat to walk down into a waterfall in a hole in the ground. Our kittens are getting very big, super cat is adventurus and loves to be outside, her name is fitting due to her trying to fly by jumping (falling) out of tree tops! Skittles is much more timid, she likes it inside, and loves to eat plants (which is makes it very hard for zegan to grow plants lol) Jeremy said we should call her herby because she seems to be an heravore.
Jeremy is busy teaching students to fly, and very busy with building bumpers and enjoying off roading with his club. We recently went to FL eglin airforce base for a off road adventure there with his club. It was fun, and very wet. We were so excited to camp on the white beach. That night the kids told me there where things that glowed blue when they threw sand into the water. I came to see and there where all these quarter sized glowing blue spots when sand was thrown into the water! So we caught one and examend it, and it was a small type of jelly fish, with no tentacles. They kept us quite amused all night. We finally made it to bed and quickly passed out. Well sleep didnt last long! we were all awakened by the tent being blown into our faces due to the 50 mile per hr wind. We had forgoten any rope, so Jeremy used a sleeping bag string to anchor one end of our tent to a near by tree branch ( luckily it was there!) and parked the truck in front of the tent to block some of the wind. he moved the truck 2 more times that night due to the shifting of the wind. Finally the sunshine came up and the wind slowed to about 20 miles per hr, and we quickly packed up our tent ( luckily there were other people to help or our huge 10 person tent would have been difficult to get folded..haha) So our lovely beach front tent expereince was quickly horrific with the wind! We had a fun time exploring a new place in Flordia and experiencing the changes of the weather at the beach.
I started going back to school online, and it has been keeping me busy! I also have been teaching art on Friday to Sequoia's pod (class of 40). I have fallen in love with teaching art to the kids, it is so much fun. I look forward to pursuing it as a possible career. I am also planning a spring carnival with the pta, which will be a fun time! Spring break is coming and the kids will have aweek off of school. There are a LOT of kids on our block, so I am working on getting other moms together so we can have a block party where each house has a game or treat for the kids to do. I am looking forward to it, It will be a blast! It will help all of us moms get to know each other better, and all the kids better to. I also am recovering from a fall that fractured one of my vertabre, and herniated a disk in my back. It has been painful, but I know it will get better with time.
Jeremy and I are both looking for jobs and preparing so we can finally get out of the army and get back to the the mountains and the west cost in the fall of this year. The economy is a tough situation right now, but we believe it is up to us to get what we want out of life, and anything is possible.:) So if anybody knows of a helicopter or welding company that is in need of a excellent pilot and mechanic, let us know! Hugs and loves from all of the nerd herd
